Building Bullbars

Post by PeeJay » Sat Sep 16, 2006 10:16 pm

Has anyone here ever had a go at building a bullbar? L series bars seem to be non-existant here in NSW.
Not sure if I'd go for steel or aluminium yet.

Yeah Vidler made his L series bull bar that Lapsed now has from scratch. Great bar and very well designed mounting brackets. Your unlikely to here from him in here now though. Since he sold his L and became a WRX boi he doesn't seam to pipe up much.

Maybe Lapsed can help you out with some pics... i might be able to dig some up if he can't.

whilst I didn't build one, I did draw it up, dimensions etc, and got a metal fabricator to do it.
and look at ,showthread.php?t=720
that bar is readily available.
I think it took 2-3hrs to build , so that should give you a general idea on price + material cost.
If I did it again, i'd do it a little different, but they did fab it exactly to my drawing.
