ej22 into l series related
1:Radiator fan control .Do you use the ej ecu to control or the l setup?is one better than the other?Any tricks?
2:Fuel pump.Is the L mpfi fuel pump up to the job for ej22?
3: A/C.any one got it up and running after the conversion?How?

1: I used the thermoswitch from the L-series to switch twin electric fans (the slimline ones from the MY-series): works a charm.

2: Yes, the EA82 MPFI pump is sufficient.

3: I have not got the AC running yet, will be getting this done within the next few months. I will be replacing all hoses, getting new fittings and re-gassing the system (I will get a professional to do this).

Are you planning on using a ej a/c style harness hooked into the ecu or a stand alone harness or hooked up the ej compressor to the l series a/c wiring thats in place?

I plan on using the L-series harness with the EJ compressor, not using the ECU whatsoever.

1 - EJecu does mine
2. - yes it will run it.
3. EJ compressor with EA electrics with full throttle shut off. custom hoses.(prof made.)

Love the idea of the full-throttle shut-off Chris. Just using the standard TPS? You're a damn genius.

nah the auto pedal box has a switch on it. I looped the compressor through it.

The EJ computer has an ac cut output which will also cut the compressor under high load.

true, I used the old method.

What do you guys do about the absent rotational sensor if using the EA controller with the EJ compressor? Does it just work anyway ?

all I have done is power the clutch. I left the rest out.

Chris, do you have something cycling the compressor clutch on and off?

is this the kickdown switch?

yup. looking at the EJ harness it seems to be TPS based so I used the switch for this instead.

yep original A/C system is still in place bar compressor which is EJ.

That was my original question - does the EA controller work OK without the rotation sensor connected ? (sounds like it does)

I thought the rotation sensor was only for the fuel pump cutoff on the EAs?

No, I mean this rotation sensor:

its a speed pulser.heres what it does, picks up a signal as the clutch rotates compares it with engine speed and if the clutch is turning to slow shuts off the compressor. i guess there is a way to bypass it or the ej compressor has its own pulser that you could wire in.Ive seen the amount of wires pulled from Yarneys a/c system [alot] and it still worked.
