Steel bar for brumby

After coming close to cleaning up several Roos and a wombat last weekend I thought It was time to upgrade from the useless hoop style aluminium bar on the brumby.
So during the week over a few nights I pugged away and made myself a steel tube bar that should be solid enough to clean up anything short of an ox.

How heavy is it?

Dead on 30kg, only 16 kgs heavier than the bumper and Ali bar that came off it. Ill be keeping track of my fuel economy for the next few weeks to see if there's a noticeable difference

That sounds pretty good to me. That's the weight of a spare wheel, or a jerry can or a case of beer. Nothing to worry about.

Looks good
Hit a roo with the driver's side of mine years ago with the tube bar and it pressed the bar back into the bumper and sort of crushed it in, they aren't the best

I had the same problem with the tube bar on the old hilux I had, I think this one should be fine though, the tube has a 3.6mm wall thickness and the corners are all braced with gussets. Either way it's gonna be stronger than the Ali one

My Aluminium roo bar has saved the front of Ruby Scoo once before - hit a roo at 110km/h on the LHS, the hoop bent almost right back to the headlight. Other than the bent hoop there was some panel damage with the valance and lower LH guard.
Pretty happy with that.
Good looking bar mate, looks mean. Now all you need is some lift and aggressive tyres and your brumby will be something to reckon with!

The bar looks good, some bullbars look too big for the car but not this one.
I have to dodge roos every day on the way to work as it is about 3 ks or so from the highway in.
When I carry out site inductions for new employees it is funny to see the looks on their faces when I spend a fair bit of time on the issue of Skippys and how they hop in front of you, run into the side of you (stopped or moving) and even have been known to jump on car bonnets while cars are stopped.
This was especially the case recently with a couple of people from the UK. Not sure if they believed me or not though.
A week or so ago I watched a big roo sitting for about 10 or 15 minutes carefully watching a contractor eating their lunch while he was sitting at a table on our oval. The roo was about 8 to 10 metres away at the time and did not move the whole time.
I would have been a bit un nerved if it was me.
