Hi all,

Been meaning to modify the original air cleaner to fit the Weber. Finally got round to it. Bugger of a job, but boy what a difference to the performance and smooth running.
Some pics to show you how it turned out.

Cheers Rick

A very nice job :)

do you have a lift kit?

Im curious as to how much room there is when you close the bonnet.

Thanks guys,
Toonga, I don't have a lift kit mate. I used the Weber aircleaner base as a template, cut it out with a jigsaw leaving enough metal to turn up on the sides. This covered the side gaps on the "hollow" bit. Little bit of spot welding with the old gasless mig, and a bit of "metal" filler. It sits level with the bottom of the aircleaner, so the screw holes almost lined up perfectly. Not quite enough, so I redrilled them. It sits in almost the same position as with the original carby.
