Righto, so I'm wrecking our blown out Landbruiser, and today I tore the snorkel off.

Fiddly, irritating jobs like these on cars like these make me love my little Emma even more

Should fit fine on the Brumby, looks a little big, but will fit nonetheless.

This is it;


Deciding how to mount it now, which is a pain since the air intake isn't in such an advantageous position as the L's and such

Any ideas? Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. I was thinking about just clamping and sealing it onto the end of the intake from the air filter with a bit of intercooler hose. (not a weber convert by the way, so it's just the stock intake)

Looks like it will take big breaths!

Does the angle sit just the same on Brumby's as the Bruiser you took it off? Astounding. This will make Snorkel finding that much easier if so...

I've seen exhaust materials used to make fittings to snorkels... Never done it though...

Yeah it's about a 4.5" diameter and no filter so I'm hoping it's like a pseudo cold air intake.

First inspection, seems like it. Need to whip off the aerial to make sure though.

Kind of like Bennie's intake mod? Was thinking about getting some off-cuts of 3" exhaust pipe a while ago when I got my 2.25" cat-back done, this came up though so I might not need to

You might find that where this snorkel enters the guard there's a strut tower in the way

As for adapting it to the stock air cleaner this will get tricky if you don't modify the stock snorkel part. Time to get creative and move that away from the battery and work out how to have the intake piping from the snorkel enter behind the battery then come up to the modified part of the stock intake snorkel...

You'll really need some imagination on this one!

Had a similar issue in the Toyota, theres a little 'S' shaped piece of piping that sort of bypasses that, but I'll keep it in mind. Still some exploration to be done yet.

That's what I'm thinking intercooler hose for, just to flex it over from the snorkel intake past the battery and onto the stock intake. Might have to get a reducer type of thing since the 'S' piece is a round 4" diameter.

Might think about taking off the intake arm of the stock intake and flipping it over or replacing it/welding on a shorter piece of mandrel bent exhaust so it angles towards the firewall as opposed to towards the front of the car.

Dunno yet, all things I'll have to work out in due course. Should be fun!
