intercooler options

Hey i have the water to air inter-cooler on my legacy but i have a sti top mount inter-cooler sitting in the shed would there be any benifits in making the change besides the fack that i like the look of the top mount better?

I dont have any idea but I will steal one of them for my SC setup

haha that really doesnt help me

i wont be selling anything untill the brumby is finished i have a front mount for it but keeping my options open incase it dosent fit

WAIC is a more efficient cooling system, but you need a decent sized radiator or volume of water to get the most benefit. But they are heavier too. But the biggest drawback for the Subaru WAIC is the actual airflow through them (as in the air going to the engine) is crap but only once you are chasing more than 200kws. It won't really make much performance difference between the two if you are looking at less than 200kws. The TMIC (top mount intercooler) is probably marginally better though.
And of course a FMIC is even better than both of them.

On your Liberty, the STI top mount wont achieve much because your bonnet scoop doesnt pick up much air, and the air it does pick up it funnels over the turbo. Dont even consider putting a WRX scoop on the Liberty because they look gay

Yes Alex :P Sorry mate, (Gannon and Alex) I couldn't help my self!
Thermo fan setup can sort out the air flow issue once a decent scoop and hole to properly use it is sorted on the bonnet...
