Just one question, where is the cutout for the cross over pipe on the drivers side?

I don't have any pipe yet and stupid me waisted gas and wire on the drivers side. Not to worry I don't have the up pipe yet either. I had you guys stumped all day though by the sounds of it.

Just to add another comment i think you will have to add an over lap plate on the welds as the crossmember is subjected to alot of torsional twisting and may develop cracks

Yeah for sure. Thats the next step. I have some 3mm plate sitting there waiting to go in. I just need to go and get a cardboard box and make some teplates out of the cardboard. I am also going to try and see if I can run some 20mm pipe around the inside of it the cross member.

So what is the reason for all that work?

Engine mounts are at the correct angle and have a larger area of contact between the engine mount and crossmember.

RS or WRX steering rack bolts straight in.

Yes its alot of work but the final product will be worth it. It gives me a bit more confidence throwing it about a skid pan knowing my engine is bolted with no washer's under the engine mounts for packing. Feel free to rip it right into me i'm after all opinions.

Oh and it got me in the shed for a couple of days instead of sitting around home as I don't know to many people in Sydney yet.

Hey that looks excellent, what a great idea.

If I could ever offer anyone one single piece of advice to doing an EJ conversion into an L-series is would be: Buy a front-cut.

Doing mine without a front-cut I spent a hell of a lot of time standing around scratching my head as to how to beat small issues like "what the hell do I do for engine mounts".

I thought a liberty rack would already fit onto an L series crossmember?
