Word is legislation is in the process of being approved in parliament - that 15% capacity increase is gonnna convert to 20% power increase on same family engine conversions for owner certified mods. Same family means any Subaru engine in older model Subes. Go over 20% and engineer needed

I thought it sounded a good thing in that the family is allowed. So, so long as the EJ chosen is not more than 20% power output increase over the standard fitment of say EA81 it can be intended to be an owner certified - meaning no engineer intervention required. But guessing an EJ20 may be too much over EA81 power wise. Not in yet , still waiting on it being passed, delay apparently coz other stuff is wanted to be included - almost not related stuff I hear.....

erk....found TOONGAs info on EA81 'power' rating of 54kW 20% power increase does not quite stretch far enough to nearly 65kW :(

a 93 Impreza EJ18 has 76kW and 96 EJ20 ups to 88kW.

Not sure if same family thing currently applies (ie old rules once new ones passed , but that is all on owner certified . Engineer gets fianl say on greater than 20% power increase.

I had been thinking I could downgrade the output rating of turbo EA82T into Brumby based on LPG only having 80% the energy of petrol :D , but 54kW is ..is that all ????
