Why ? Cause they have an auto adjusment where the Brumby has a manual adjustment.
They should fit cause L series Rear discs will bolt up to the rear end of a Brumby.
Has anyone done it before.
Could make for a cheap upgrade for a Brumby

Why not, so long as you include the backing plate. SEARCH because I have read someone say can't be done but don't think they used the L backing plate

Done it. Works well and is as simple as the rear disc conversions except for all of those little springs etc.
Cheers

Don't understand what you mean by an upgrade? as they are both the same size drum. The fact of the self adjusting just means 1 less thing to do at a service. Upgrade would be fitting larger drums, converting to disc or the best upgrade would be the crossbred kit.
IMO you'd only fit L drums if you had them lying around and you MY ones were toast.

So 1 less thing to do would be an upgrade (see first line of first post) and I now have L drums lying around.
Thanks Bennie. That is all I needed to know.

I too would consider one, sorry, two less things to do at service time -as an upgrade as surely a car salesman would also
BUT, consider if you need to get drums off and the auto adjusters have got the shoes too snug on the drums to remove with ease, can they be backed off like the MY ones can be ??

I think the L series is *slightly* bigger, but only by half a bee's . . . .
You need the L series drum for this conversion to work. At least this is how it turned out for me, not that it was a problem.

I read your first post and understood what you were saying, I just believe that one more complicated automatic system in your brakes doesn't make it an upgrade but each to their own. I prefer things without all the automatic bullcrap (hence the Brumby being such a good winner) but it's just me. Sorry

They have the same inside diameter and use the same shoes, so only time there will be a bee's willy in it, is when someone has skimmed them
