Making a lift kit

Hey all,
I have been wanting a lift kit for ages now but haven't had the tools to make it myself where I live, I have now been given the opportunity to make one but can't find very clear pictures searching on google for what they look like.
I was wondering if anyone, possibly those who have made their own could post up some pics of what the lift mounting and gear extension stuff looks like please.
Cheers in advance,
Lincoln

forgot to add that this is for an 1990 L-series and an 1983 MY-series, both wagons.

all good, apart from the linkage connecting the 4wd engagement mechanism to the lever do you know what else is different?

I have made half an L series 2" kit.
I used 50mm x 50mm x 3mm RHS box section with crush tubes welded in.
And end caps on the end
For the gearbox/radius rod mounts, I used 50mm solid bar, cut to 50mm long with a 12mm hole in the centre. There were 6 of these.
Thats as far as I got

Do the strut top spacers have to be offset as it appears in that pic?

by TOONGA
yep for every 25mm you need 6-7mm of off set so on a 2 inch you need 14mm, ona 3 inch you need 21mm on a 4 inch 28mm and so on

So the bottom is further away from the engine?

It is hard to explain but the offset makes it so that the suspension is in the right place. how ever many inches away from the body, so you have the right; camber, caster, toe and track (once a wheel alignment is done)

So the bottom is further away from the engine?
No, the bottom should be the same distance from the engine because the struts angle out slightly, hence the offset

God I love this site, anytime I need to know anything Subaru I need only come on here,
RSR, what car was that kit for L or MY?
Gannon, What do you mean about the offset? offset which way lol, I did hear once you had to cut the strut tops at 23 degrees to adjust camber/caster and whatnot
