It would require destroying the structural integrity of the vehicle and would need an engineers certificate. In nsw sometimes they require bringing the vehicle up to the latest ADR"s. Another way is to mount the body on something like a cruiser chassis, but then it's not a suby:rolleyes: Those of us old enough may remember the ad when the brumby was released. An old guy(me) was cutting the body of a wagon to make a ute. Just as he finished some young punks drove over the hill in a brumby. The ad was really old as they were standing up in the back of the ute hanging onto a roll bar. The good old days!

I've had ideas about doing something like this lol.
Need a hack ute for my bush property sometime in the next year, but Brumby's cost too much. Thinking of chopping up an old MY wagon and putting an Ally flat tray on it. Little bit more practical with the fold down sides I think.
I had experience chopping up a wagon before, WackyBug, seems easy enough to make it into a ute. Certainly not for the road lol :)
