if you want rwd and totally lose the reason a subaru is a subaru, maybe you should not bastardise your car and go here.

Thanks Paul I really appreciate your comments, something wrong with the adaptor plate I made? Fitted alot better than a lasercut BYB one.

No sir.. I can't remember seeing your adaptor plate

Sorry if you have already showed me but I was thinking it would be cool to use the Toyota box with the setup you mentioned to me (a long time ago).

ah.
Yeah that link seems like a very extreme solution to getting RWD for drifting in a WRX.
To the thread opener - The most common way is to replace the centre diff coupling in the rear of the gearbox with a solid one, which can be bought for a price.
You can also have the centre welded up, but I suspect this isn't as reliable. I had this done to convert a 5spd awd box to RWD and something went bang inside, I haven't pull it apart to find out what yet.
Honestly though, for the price it will cost you to do this reliably in a WRX, you're probably better off buying an old Silvia for a drift car and enjoying your AWD WRX in other ways.

Also jump onto rslibertyclub.org and Perth-wrx.com - there are many threads there with info about 6speed conversions. Doug from Stechnic is the man in Perth to see about a drive-in / drive-out conversion too.
