G'day and welcome,

your chances for getting a front LSD of any subaru description in a wreckers is bucklies and none.

With subaru's, you cannot simply remove the front diff as it is located INSIDE the gearbox.
looking for a gearbox with those specs, its going to be imported.
Currently Jason from ALL THINGS SUBARU in Lawnton Brisbane ( http://www.funonwheels.net/ )

has a JDM STi 4.44 Front LSD box for sale and has matching plated rears in stock.

As for the LSD or lockable centre. you do have options.

Factory LSD Centre

Aftermarket LSD Centre

Factory Diff lock ?

Factory DCCD (Driver Centre Diff Control) - is nice....i have one in mine :D

either way, its going to have to be some kind of frankenstein hybrid for the DR setup

JEFF from Crossbred has an animal brumby with the exact combo gearbox that you are looking for and may have a spare. Hit him up on info at least.

here are some spots for good reference for your search

hope this helps

Cheers,

With the right driving skills your little subi will kick your mates courier on the beach. The L series low range (1.59:1) in the EJ AWD gearbox will be a huge improvement over the standard EJ low range (1.19:1).

Some lift will be an advantage too. If the avatar is a liberty and the subaru in question, you should be able to do a strut lift at the very least. A body lift with a larger strut lift would give the best possible lift when combined with larger tyres...

Cheers

ah yes thats in the plans, outback struts to replace airbags and a three inch body lift with 235/70 15's.should get me there.heres somthing some of you may not know liberty with 14's only has 20mm less underbody clearance than courier on 235/70 15's.

Mm pretty hard to find but if you go to the right direction they're there.
See my thread about conversion of 1.19:1 to 1.59:1 low range ratio, mine is still going strong.
Only way to find out is to inspect the rotation of the wheels in wreckers and shut your mouth at the counter guys if its LSD because they'll push the price up.
Cheers

No mention of rebuild and I very much doubt he would sell it with a warranty on offroad equipment.. most wreckers dont

and I'll let you pay $800 for just a diff.. we can buy the whole car for that price and you'll get free rear discs :)

paul is forced to give a warrenty as he is a member of the hotline 40 auto wrecker mobs
and whenever he gets them they get rebuilt and usually sold to the rally guys
if i could get a standard subaru L here for 800 well yeah but you cant unless you look really hard most go for about 1500

no need to complain about his pricing, its his shop and he needs to keep it operating.

yes you can find parts cheaper, but you need to find them and in some case's that needs a long time frame.
