codes for 4 stud brakes

anyone know what the part code is for the brake callipers off the rear of the L series??

looking at getting some from the US while the dollars good =)

I don't know the code....but it's very important to know that there are two different types of hubs for these (you will need the hubs if you are planning to put them onto an L which currently has rear drums).
If you get the 2wd ones then your car won't be 4x4 anymore. You can't make the 2wd hubs work with driveshafts.

Make sure you get rear disc brake stuff from a 4x4 car.

Im not sure about codes spike, I can pull a number off a L series rear caliper for you, they came on our L series cars and wagons, ea82t powered rigs.

yeah number would be fine t'subaru

and i think if i understand andrew correct he is trying to point at the fact rear disks off the 2wd vortex do not bolt straight up. THIS IS CORRECT

however dads worked out a way to do it and thats what i have on the other wagons in the paddock

something else for you to think about is the bore size of callipers off the XT6 were bigger and may be too much stopping power in rear unless you have the XT6 stuff up front as well.

You want FWD rear discs set ups to continue your dads mods or get real 4WD rear discs off the L Series RX's which may cost a lot more but really is bolt on and not paddock basher mods that an engineer most likely approve of

Used parts will not use genuine part numbers surely ?? and new stuff in US from dealer is much same as new here.

You may just need to quote 1985 to 1989 4WD RX or turbo Sedans or wagons? for disc rear.

The hub, the backing plate, the disc, the caliper, the steel line brake line and rubber hose straight off caliper to make up a new one here for safety

ok ill have an ask around for these parts in USA



oh and with that about the rear brakes on the cars in the paddock these are not paddock bashers, one was my mums that got ran into hence why its in the paddock it is engineered

The discs, calipers and backing plates will bolt up. The hole for the drive shaft to slot through on the backing plates will need to be enlarged to fit over the rear hub bearing housing - this is what I had to do to fit mine on my 4wd DL wagon.

If you're getting XT6 rears I wouldn't be sticking with the 4 stud pattern! Just find out what needs to be done up front to fit liberty brakes to make it all work. It would basically be a crossbred kit with factory parts that we didn't get for the L in oz... Clear as mud?
