Relocation of air intake

Hi folks

In the process of changing my liberty's bullbar to replace the bumber (its replacement style but its mounts made it an add-on, good 'ol fleabay) and I think I might need to move the air intake.

I'm thinking in the front right hand corner or the back right hand corner of the engine bay - I haven't had a good look yet.

Or should I go for a pod filter and thus ditch the intake and airbox? I quite like the K&N air filter that I have at the moment and I'm not sure how pod filters handle regular exposure to dusty dirt roads / river crossings.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Owen.

Don't tempt me! Seriously though, has anyone any suggestions - especially regarding the pod filter and river crossings / lots of dust.

Show us a pic of your intake and why it needs to be moved

Id suggest an over bonnet intake from a later model, like this

You would just need to graft the airflow meter into it somewhere, preferably after the air filter

I would take a pic but the camera and car keys have gone for the day in my partners bag with her into the city.

My bullbar won't come down low enough to provide protection for the current breather box which is situated in the wheel well.

Ideally I'd like to eliminate the breather box alltogether and move the intake point higher. I think a snorkel is over kill so I'm thinking of other ways first.

thats the worst possible intake you could put on an offroad car. its basically a water scoop - plenty of outbacks have drowned because of these stupid cold air intakes.

i reckon build a snorkel for the beast!
