After disecting the spare set of heads ( link ), I am about to embark on the porting adventure, just wondering if anyone would like to share their handiwork...

Here is a link (the only one I could find) I found...

Would probably be quite nice on a set that weren't cracked, certainly some good gains to be had in the exhaust 'bowl'

nice work there .
but do u think u open them up anuff and y you are are u shoud port mach the inlets to the head so u get a nice flow of air in to the head
as i wood not just port the heads only .
do it all so it is a mach from the start when u rebuild the engine then it is port all the way from the air inlet pipe to the heads.

I just found this forum thread, sounds very interesting, does anybody happen to have a copy of the photos?

When my heads were ported I think most of the time was spent in the exhausts . From memory you should be able to feel a step the wrong way around from inside where the port divider is .

I don't know how much is to be gained here if you're using the std EA82T header because its a bit woeful itself .
The hydraulic rocker pivots on EA82's are large prehistoric things for what they have to do and their wells leave a bump in two of the inlet ports . Also there is a semi circular bulge into two of the inlet ports at their manifold flanges . Blame inadequate engineering on both counts .

I don't know how much I've gained yet , I do think the later NA cams help but you need to do the best you can manifold wise .
If I had my time again I would have tried to run good NA pistons because the bath tubs in the heads and pistons are really crude . I think we could have got the CR to 9.0 with NA pistons which would have been better with todays fuels - IC probably a must too .
I think the secret with EA82s is to make torque withought turning high revs because the ports won't support even reasonable breathing . Long rally spec cams would help but terrible to live with in a street car .
