CORRECTION: EA82T into MY

Earlier I stated I found that an EA82T cross over exhaust header fitted to an EA81 block mounted to the MY engine cross member did not need X member cut and weld if the heat shield of the turbo pipe was flattened.
I have discovered a not so obvious difference between the EA81 and 82 in that same bash it flat mod to pipe still does not clear the MY engine X member when an EA82T is concerned. I had to cut out a 50mm wide chunk at the front of the MY X member to clear the flattened heat shield. Plated and welded up with same thickness steel and a few finsihing filling welds and it should look factory !
I now recall years ago asking a subie specialist mechanic about turbo pipes to suit EA81/2. He said there was two differing diameters of tube and the larger diameter was the full on rally spec of which he only had the bits (flanges ) of which to make a newy. To fit the larger would require spacers under the engine mount to X member.
