Hi Team,
So far so good, and thanyou all for your help. It has certainly helped my project come along a little quicker.
I was hoping to swap the old brumby instrument cluster for the instrument cluster out of the imprezza.
I am assuming this is possible?
At this point i have the two side by side and have dismantled them and it looks like it will work but it looks like i need to cut up a bit of the facia on the brumby cluster.
Can someone confirm with photos?
cheers

It was SVX cluster to match the engine, sorry I got it wrong. Think someone else did one Impreza to Brumby dash

So,
sorry to keep going on this, but trawling through images i had in my computer, i knew i had one somewhere that showed a converted instrument cluster.
This i think is of a member known as stinky, who had a blue brumby.
Does anyone want to help me discover how he completed this conversion? The plastic surround he has used on the instrument cluster is not a standard MY surround, maybe jap spec something! Any help?

i'm halfway done with mine, although i'm using a liberty cluster. the shape of the glass matches the surround fairly well, but it obscures the indicators at the top. you can just see the edge of the glass in the top corners though. i want to try heating the surround so i can shape it, but i don't intend on getting it perfect. i have put the liberty column in with the combination switch and this hits the bumps on the surround where the headlight/wiper switches were. i'm going to cut them off and maybe glue in some filler pieces.

So you're trying to put the instruments from the Impreza into the Brumby dash? Or installing the dash as a whole?

Thalass as you can see in the picture, is only the instrument cluster and the surround.
There was obviously a model once upon a time that had a different surround on an MY that fitted a imp or lib instrument cluster in it.
So am keen to know where the surround is from

I'm pretty keen to hear if anyone has done a complete dash transfer
The only thing stopping me doing a Brumby/WRX conversion is the dash.

Rocksy,
do a bit of a search and you will find that a couple of people have done this. By the sounds of it, its not worth the hassel. Look in My car, and restorations and build ups. I would like to fit the whole dash but the converting would be far to time costly for me to bother.
Hence im only trying for the instrument cluster.
good luck

thanks mate, i did actually find some stuff lastnight, but it's always good to hear it from the horses mouth.
I have nothing but time, the dash a massive part of what i want to do, because i want twin LCD screens in the dash for my carputer, and the wrx and gen 2 foresters dash is pretty much the best dash out there for carputers.

Awesome,
will look really good when it is done.
Lucky you with heaps of time on your hands. Every job i have done so far on the project has taken me several hours to complete, e.g. modified steering column.
good luck

seems i may need a ute a lot quicker than i'd prefer.
If someone was to cut the firewall and back to the tranny hole out of a rusting Brumby, and mount it to a frame, they could work on fitting a Modern dash into a brumby whenever they wanted, and just install it after it fit perfectly.
