fuel consumption after conversions

Anyone got anything to contribute regarding fuel consumption changes after conversion of either engine or transmissions?
I remember someone asking LTurbo Thomas at TimCoupe81 meet and greet a few years back in Canberra if he was happy with going from AWD 4 speed auto to a part time manual 5 speed. Thomas was all smiles and if I recall correctly it was the fuel savings he got that he was happy with. He must have shed about 30kg and got an extra gear but must have been good fuel savings going from auto to manual to get that smile.
I have noticed my fuel gauge is now very slow to drop to the E mark and looking forward to reporting the benefits when known.
What sort of l/100km figures have others experienced in either engine or gearbox swaps ? Getting to and from work for 11 days instead of ten will be accepted(as a 10% improvement

kicking it off as an an edit one month later...I know my Brumby ran out of petrol just over 500km. Then a rebuild proper with 16/56 cam i got 609km from full to splutter, stop. Assuming it was 55 litres as per tank spec that is 9litres to 100km and an extra hundred out of a 'tank'.

G'day Jonno
My MPFI consistently got just below 10L/100km country driving. Best I got was 740km to one tank of fuel (still going, dunno exact litres cos we stuck a jerry can in to keep us going). I didn't hold back when passing cars either...
Now I'm back with the carbie in the same car, at very best I can get 500km to 56/57 litres driving it nicely. Its averaging 450km to 50-54 litres
Can't wait for the EJ figures!

I think I was getting about 10.5 per 100km on petrol with the auto EA82T
Then convert to dedicated LPG started out at 15 per 100 (about Falcon consumption on LPG!) Tuned the gas more precisely got 14.5 consistently, hooked up EGR dropped to 14, then cold air box for my LPG air filter box sitting in spare wheel well got things down to 13.3 ~13.5. My first fill today at only 338km gave 11.6 on the manual box. Got change for a twenty out of that too
The other changes happening this time were also new valve springs and removal of A/C compressor. Shed a few kilos in the compressor , condensor and box swap - about 20kg
Using 10W30 XLD oil both tests except for early petrol test
On top of all this I get this scalded cat performance when compared to old valve springs and three speed auto!!
No cats were harmed or injured in this comparison - note for RSPCA and FLATCAT society

my fuel economy is rubbish,.. i usually get 350-380km per 40l fill.
But it has a lot to do with my driving style (i love that rush of torque at 2800rpm) and my daily drive to work is pretty hilly

It is the lugging around of the extra 20 litre reserve you never use that is holding your economy back - live dangerously and push it to the 500km mark with a twenty litre jerry can on board

Highway cruising in my EJ18 powered L series with 27" tyres gets 8.1L/100km (two-way average at 100km/h). I try not to think about what it uses around town.

The ea82t gets 9l per/100k around town thats usually in boost or full boost...
although i run a lightened vw flywheel too which is half the weight of a subi flywheel.
The turbo spools fast with less flywheel mass and only has 700kg to push around

.
i run 27 inch tyre,s Aswell.

My EJ20G RX turbo got about 8.5l/100km when I first did it, now it's up to 10.5 but that's with 2" lift and huge wheels. The best it ever managed was 7.2 and that was even on E10.
