EJ20 half cut questions

Post by brute » Tue Feb 17, 2009 3:38 pm

Hey guys, have an option on a WRX front cut which I am told is about 94-95 model with 103,000km on the clock, 5 speed manual that I am intending to fit into a Brumby. They want $2,500 for it and can provide rear diff and rear drive shafts.

Seems like a good deal to me and looks in pretty good / clean condition, any comments / thoughts before I buy. Also does anyone know what the stated power output is for this model vs STI, etc?

Once installed I will also have the old running EA81 and 4 speed box up for grabs in the coming weeks ex Gold Coast for anyone who's interested.

Thanks

You should beable to get it started with a little bit of work and a battery - this'll give you some idea of the engine's condition (knocking etc). Just make sure there's oil in the powersteering pump as I've heard these will whine after being run without oil (unlike the EA82 variety).

I think that's actually an RS Liberty/Legacy frontcut but with a WRX topmount intercooler fitted. Just looking on my laptop sitting in the car so I can't see too well....anybody else confirm?

Just going by the turbo top-hat, cold air intake and plastic radiator header tank.
