HD clutch required for EJ conversion?

I'm buying a new clutch kit to go with an L-series AWD gearbox I've got in mind to fit to my L-series wagon. An EJ conversion is in the pipeline (an EJ20 or EJ22 most likely, non-turbo) so what type of clutch is recommended? Should I go the heavy duty type since I've got the 27" tyres or just leave it standard? I don't do an awful lot of 4WDing and have had the old girl laden up pretty big with the EA82 to years. Going to more power and AWD I thought it might be best to go heavy duty but I thought it might also be overkill. ???

DO NOT get the HD l-series clutch for a EJ motor. It will burn-out as soon as you hit something even slightly boggy. Get a l-series pressure plate beafed up to liberty spec and youll be fine(maybe even a tad more)

schultzie's clutch is also ideal for this.

I had a HD L series clutch with my EJ20G and it didn't start slipping until about 18 months later, and then only in 2nd at 12psi :)

Yes, get something better.

I ran a standard Super Cheap Auto L series clutch with the Ej20 in the Brumby with 27's on, Never had a problem with it.

Clutch Industries make a clutch plate called a 4 terrain which allows for a small amount of slip before head does its work and grips again. These are available in an L series kit if you ask for it, they are not the cheapest with a kit at around $500 but they work as advertised.

I'm pretty sure that those brands, Exedy and Clutch Industries are available through Repco and I've got a friend who's a manager of a store and gets me staff prices. I'll see how much those options come down to brand new.

The best method is to get a standard L series pressure plate custom modified to increase it's clamping pressure and use a new standard clutch disc. You want around 1700pounds which is what a standard Liberty runs. This will be good for any non-turbo EJ motor. This will cost approximately $300 to $350 depending where you go.
If running an EJ20turbo you'd need to increase the clamping pressure to around 2200pounds and get your clutch fork modified for extra strength.
