I am looking at doing the same and am on the Gold Coast. I was intending to get a half cut. Im actually looking for someone to do the conversion for ca$h in hand, any takers? Would need it to be done properly with engineers certs and what not.

I have found a wrecker that has engine, gearbox and wiring loom for $1600 and my mechanic is checking out whats involved. Was just wondering if anyone knew of a source of good cheap engines.

ebay boys... a turbo rs ej20t just sold up your way for around 800, u just gotta keep lookin...
i search ej20 first, then subaru engine, then subaru motor and if your real thorough try ej20 front cut then half cut then the same with subaru replacing ej20...
alot of searching but worth it... i scored an bugeye ej20 with 69000kms and all parts, loom ecu airbox alt and exhaust headers with sensors
for a total of 700 plus some fuel for a 4hr road trip down the coast...
