Just wondering what capacity winch to fit to the front of my Brumby. I want something that has the guts to actually pull me out of the s*** when i get stuck but at the same time I don't want something so heavy that the whole front of the truck is going to suffer from the weight. Has anyone got any suggestions?
Cheers,
John

Yep, which ever winch you end up with, ditch the wire rope and put some synthetic on.
Usually you work on 1.5 times your GVM to get the correct size winch for
your vehicle. But we all know most of the time the bloke with the winch usually ends up getting other people unstuck

I've always thought a Warn 6000 would be a good match for a Brumby. If you don't want all that weight sitting on the front of the car all the time, you could always build a winch mount that slides the winch on when you need it. The rest of the time you'd leave it in a box in the back, out of the weather.

You could get a factory one in the states once upon a time you could look into what they used too.
