I'm new to this forum and to Subaru's in general.
I have just purchased a brumby and looking to upgrade brakes/motor etc.
I have been told that to convert the rear drum brakes on a brumby you can simply get the rear end from a 4wd Vortex and swap then over.
It must be a 4wd and not the 2wd.
Is this true? and are there any other mods required to fit?
Is there any thread on this conversion?
Would appreciate some info on this.

Mate, its a pretty easy conversion. All you need is to find an L-series or XT turbo vehicle and they all have rear discs. You need the calipers and backing plates as well as the hubs with the discs themselves.

My brake lines were knackered and as I was in the process of lifting the vehicle anyway I got some longer steel-braided hoses made up by a local street-bike customiser. I made my own mounting brackets which I then bolted on where the swing arm attaches to the torsion-bar plate.
