Putting a ej22 into my brumby, have some question

Post by markme80 » Sun Aug 10, 2008 7:14 pm

Hi all, i own a 89 subaru brumby, last week i bought a 1992 subaru liberty that i have pulled the running gear out to install into the brumby. so far i have installed the motor, gearbox and diff. the problem i am having now is with the wiring. i am wondering if there is anyone around Narre Warren (Melb)or in melbourne that i can view how they have carried out the wiring.... or if anyone has pics of the loom before and after installtion. thanks heaps mark

ps also rear drive shaft fit in well what has to be done/ modified to the front drive shafts. thanks again all.

From what I have read in here best trick seems to be fit front gearbox splined stubs from L series box into the liberty box to continue using standard brumby front drive shafts - requiring box out, dismantle, put back together OR

custom made shhafts

OR mix and match cups, innards and shafts from other cars

i'm only just starting to pick my loom out now for my ej conversion. i went an got a liberty book with all the diagrams in it. as most people on here will tell you any auto elec will do it for you dont think it would cost to much. but another way to do it i dont no how good it is this way though. when my mate put a v6 into a old mazda ute he pluged it all in the same way as it was in the old car and just started cutting wires one at a time with the engine running and if it stoped he reconnected that wire. but i dont think that is the best way. someone else here will probably tell you that. but if i get mine worked out soon ill let you no and you can come and have a look im just in ferntree gully. good luck
