How are you going to drive it on the road? welding it is easy.

There was an MY sedan advertised on here for sale a few years ago that had one. Was used for rallying, had a full cage and CAMS approval. Also had an EJ22/constant 5 speed conversion.

thanks i no of people that have welded there rear diff( a cig locker) but they did ahve truoble turning at low speeds on the road. but was thinkin that the front and back diffs would still work so you could drive it on the road. it was just an idea didn no if it was possible. will just go the ea82 dual range box instead

The rally spec viscous centers would be a better bet but still a bit baulky on the blacktop , talk to Gareth - bratgeebra - ran one in his brumby .
There is one smart fella that worked out how to do a mechanical diff lock in the EJ type (longbox) but not sure how .

Heath, I'm guessing that your looking at modding a liberty for offroading.
If you really want a lockable centre diff in the lib the EA Fulltime 4wd gearbox is the way to do it - it will fit in the liberty's gearbox casing without any trouble.
Problem is the availability of these L AWD lockable centre diff gearboxes. An alternative is to get a Dual Range Part Time L series boxes and fitting that into the liberty casing, taking with it the better low range gearing. A little more trouble to do as the low range selection fork needs welding to allow the ball and spring to hold it in place - its different to the L PT box.
Or do as most members do with liberty boxes, just change the low range gearing and leave it at that - apparently there's not a lot of difference in the box's performance between the lib and L/MY 4wd boxes.
Hope this helps.
Cheers
Bennie
