You don't need a brass button clutch to stuff up your drive line, but from what I understand, if you like a clutch that grabs and is not well suited to every day driving, go for it!subarubrumby wrote:so use are saying the brass button will stuff up the drive line ??
subarubrumby wrote:so.. your saying if i belt it, it will flog the driveline out ?
Giving any vehicle everything its got then some more you'd expect it to break sooner rather than later - and if Murphy's law has anything to do with it you'll break something JUST when you need the vehicle in one piece.subarubrumby wrote:but seriously if i feed the shit out of it ill start breaking stuff yu rekon ?? wat would be the first things to break ?? CVs ?
If you want to see how much money you can spend to flog a subi - have a read of brumbyrunner's desert racer. Built for pushing beyond the boundaries of a subaru even after its been heavily modified. Pack a lunch, read from post #1 through to the end and don't leave a post that hasn't been well thought out

Very true, its also an expensive one if he wishes to pursue this path. Lets not forget 1st and 2nd gears in the glassbox. When flogged with lots of high revs and hard starts the subaru gearbox becomes a glassbox due to the fragile nature of the gearsets once you treat it to "intense" floggings regularly.steptoe wrote:no better lesson than experience
input shaft for starters and work your way out to the tarmac
