Also you can gain a little more clearance there by belting the crossmember just near where the steering rack goes (where the clearance issue is) with a gympie a few times, just to be sure :)
If your motor comes with the round engine mounts, ditch them and source some square ones. Will save you replacing them when the round one fail - they are shyte :)
When making the spacers, try to construct some wedges instead - you will notice that when the EJ mounts sit on the crossmember they are at a bigger angle than normal which also contributes to their earlier death - square ones still last ages but to make it perfect use wedges to bring it into the right angle will help lots.

"Disco are you getting a Crossbred kit to go with your insanely powerful EA82turbo?"

Yes I bought one of those kits when Gee still had the CrossBred business .

Don't know what the rebuilt Vortex engine will make , brake wise the plan is to use MY2000 WRX brakes and wheels which I also have excepting the rear twin piston aluminium calipers . R32/33 single turbo Skylines and Z32 300ZXs use the same ones so not hard to get .

Yes when I want to move in style I wheel the R33 out of the cave .
