I have just got a brumby, and would like to line/do something with the tray, since its in pretty good nick.

I was thinking something like Rhino lining, but im interested to see/hear what others have done - Pics and prices are good :-).

I have had the rear of my ute done with the Rhino lining product. The guy quoted a 1/2 day work but ended up taking a full day due the ammount of prep work required. The product is awesome. I will post some pictures up over the next few days.

I am also organising to get a custom fibreglass lid to be made. It will be lightweight and custom fit for the Brumby utes.... I have access and do alot of fibreglassing so once the mould made I would be happy to price up some lids for some members.

Rhino Lining

Post by Singularo » Wed Apr 09, 2008 5:10 pm

I just got around to ringing about this. The guy was helpful, said it would take a full day, and cost $ 750.00. They pull all the removable panels off, and do them individually, and for older utes, generally do a primer coat first.

Another alternative is from bushranger.com.au - they apparently make a Mat for the Brumby, and a store quoted $ 205.00 for that.

Now to decide which to do..

Would love to see pics of your "Rhino Lined" Brumby.

I would probably be interested in a lid as well.

My ute is having the Rhino lining done yesterday and today. Im having all the interior done as well as im not having carpet. Ive seen the ute section and it looks a treat, but the price is rediculous 850 for ute section 750 for the floor/firewall.Ill put some pics up when it comes back.

Yeah, I'm not really keen on the carpet either, I guess the Rhino is one way to go, anybody got other options for the interior?

Are you taking all the interior out and getting the lining everywhere? I guess pics will tell a 1000 stories. Looking forward to them.

Sensational!
Now we just need a hard ute lid to finish it off.

Nice choices.
WRC blue has been done to death though......have you seen the blue on the current model Hilux?

More importantly, would you recommend the spray-on ute liner before the paint job? (like you did)

It doesnt really matter as it will be masked up when painting. I would probably recommend though painting car first prior to doing ute lining...
Im just doing it in reverse..

Brumby hard cover

Post by brm81t » Fri Aug 22, 2008 9:51 am

noticed there was some intrest in brumby hard covers i have had one one mine for a year or two but am thinking of making a mould of it is currently a ply fibreglass sandwich (pretty heavy in its current form) was rushed when i first made it so didnt finish off surface went for the quick and easy marine vinal covering. I have it back off the brumby and removed the vinal and trying to get time to get it sprayed to enable me to make a mould.
Here are some photos of it.

Nice ute you have there mate, where have you been hiding?
What's the motor and drivetrain?

I'd be interested in a hardcover. I'd like to see it in person though before I commit. Let us know when it's all done and back on the car.
