TT engine conversion issue

One of the problems I am having with my EJ20R engine swap is the transmission crossmember, which is slightly in the way of one of the downpipes. Is this a problem that occurs often during engine swaps, and if so, how is it typically fixed? I am considering trying to modify the crossmember a bit for it to clear the downpipe, but I worry that it might weaken it too much.

Another huge favor that I have to ask: does anyone know the JDM part number or availability of the MT transmission crossmembers for a BG TT Legacy?
