Outback Snorkle
Outback Snorkle
Found these pics on another forum and have posted them here for comment.
Asthetics aside (and ignoring the likelyhood of that snorkle collecting branches), but shouldn't there be some sort of bypass pipe to divert rainwater entering via the snorkle's hat?

This looks crap!!!!! i saw one here a few weeks back from a prado and it looked like it was made for the outback.
as for water the engine can handle a degree of water and also the snorkle heads have drain slots around the mounting so that actually only a very small amount of water gets to the motor anyway.

my last 4wd that i built and had fun scaring subarus on fire trails:twisted:
full NSW rego. 270liters diesel. 140liters of water. airide suspension on front axle.
self contained for a week with 6 adults. Island cab was cut and narrowed 300mm to fit the chassis.
Great fun off road. Now lives in FIJI as a mobile dentists truck.

Man, I totally should have bought a Baja while I was in Canada. Even if the driver sits on the wrong side.
If they had made a two door version, with the sloping transition between cab and tray (like the old brumby) then I would have bought one for sure!
Dunno about that snorkle, though. Looks like pvc pipe painted black.

Living in Canada now. Looking at all these SVXs for sale...

Wouldnt be PVC as it'll be metal hand made with pipe bender - same stuff what you would make an exhaust..Thalass wrote:

Really why would you need an snorkle for - Are you planning to do deep water crossing?
Cheers
