The gearbox will mount up and the engine will bolt into the same engine mounts.

However, if you're planning on putting an EA82 into your Brumby you will run into trouble because the EA82 is marginally wider and will not fit between the chassis rails in the engine bay without modifying them.

you need about 10mm extra on either side I beleive.
Most people will aggree it isnt worth the trouble for an EA based engine. Your best off slotting in an EJ SOHC engine which won't require any chassis rail mods.

If your not lifted its only a marginal push of the chassis rails. You get 11% more power with a much better reving engine.

I have seen a Brumby in the flesh with an EA82T sitting neatly between the chassis rails . Rails did not appear to be cut or modified anyway to fit engine. Was running standard height suspension. Saw about 5 or 6mm either side clearance. Intending to try same.

Believe mounting holes in EA81 crossmember are not the same as EA82 so needs redrilling to fit ???

You're certain it wasn't an EA81T engine?

The EA81 and EA82 are bolt in place of eachother mountwise.

I have just pulled an ea82t out of an my/brumby and the passenger side chassis rail was modified slightly and the engine mount holes were not modified
I hope this helps

Fitting a lift kit drops the engine and crossmember downwards in relation to the bodywork.

I fitted an EA82 to my MY wagon, which had a 3" kit then, and I needed to cut the chassis rails bigtime, more so than with the EJ20G in my unlifted coupe.

Now the EJ20G is in the MY wagon and there's heaps of room around it.
