injector upgrade kit

Post by TOONGA » Mon Dec 16, 2013 8:23 am

I found this while I was looking for injector rebuild kits

http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/370717875622 ... 1423.l2649

What benefits would it have if any?

Wouldn't be easier to modify the injector rail from the motor the injectors come from.

I was playing around with an EJ25 injector rail on an EJ22 manifold and a small amount of cutting and welding would make the rail fit and do the same job as this kit.

(for the record my EJ22 harness will fire an EJ25 injector ... how well who knows?)

Got a multimeter Jules? measure the resistance across both the ej25 and the ej22 without them plugged in and compare. If they are the same sort of resistance then it should work fine, but if they are different (ie, 2 ohm and 12 ohm) then the ECU will be set up different for the different engines. I would assume they are both basic high impedance injectors.

Regards

Doug

I checked the resistance and the injectors have the same value of 13.5 ohms. so it would be possible to use the injectors I have.

I think it would be easier to get the fuel rails from an EJ22 with the red injectors and use them because as far as I can tell they should bolt directly to the existing manifold.

Just need to find a "doner" manifold :)

What are you trying to achieve Jules?

And I don't think there is such a thing as a rebuild kit for the injectors. You might be able to buy new tips and o'rings but other than that, it's really just a sonic bath is required.
