I've got a 3 inch lift in my L series and haven't needed to extend the brake lines, just levering their bracket did the job. I would like some extended braided lines though
As for that pyramid shaped block it's got me stumped as there's only one there. My initial thoughts were it was for the plate on the rear K frame on the three back mounting bolts, but again it looks too big. And from what Toonga has said about the steering knuckle I can't picture that in my head
Sorry I couldn't be any more use.
Cheers

Sorry, I really need to take the time to read it properly rather than skim reading when in a rush... That makes sense! I was thinking that the block went near the steering knuckles... Go figure!TOONGA wrote:Bennie it is in plain English... the block is sitting next to the steering knuckle in the photo.
I can't work out where it goes, or where all those little blocks go, there seems to be just too many of them!TOONGA wrote:Is it just me or has anyone else noticed that there are 2 crossmember blocks 2 K frame blocks and then 1 diff hanger block in the picture ? and one lonely pyramid(?) shaped block.

Cliff, any chance you can get in touch with the seller? maybe send him an email of the photo & ask him to label where the parts came from?
Just so long as he doesnt answer "underneath"!

Nah, I was thinking about it last night, because it's a two inch kit the rear section will be different to mine a little bit, and this is probably where the "extra bits" go, just under the rear passenger's seat - you know the area, where you found the cracking on Ruby Scoo from my air experience...nachaluva wrote:Spares?

I have talked to the owner last week when I took the photos and this is when I found out he took the kit out of the previous car. When he said he couldnt remember where the pyramid part came from it was clear he was only able to recall some bits and pieces as the kit came out of its previous car over 12 months + ago.
The owner is the current owner of the local wreckers but certainly 12 + months ago he was not doing this as it was being run by someone else so I dont know the history before this time. This means he was working on this kit and its car in his own time and interest. He is a great block and has been more than fair with my strange dealings with L series (and their clocks), Subarus and anything else I may come up with.
I think at the end of all this I will probably buy the kit if for nothing else than to hope the shocks are OK (no oil leaks I can see and KYB's), the King springs front and back and if all goes "pear shaped" the shocks and springs will be good for a standard height car.

I am pulling the pin on the kit.
My car has more important things (Sob !! = small tears) that need doing (Sob !! = more small tears).
If anyone is interested in following up on this kit the owner is Muswellbrook Wreckers in the Hunter Valley NSW post code 2333.
You will be looking at about $200.00 + freight for the kit if the owner has not changed his mind.
Its hard to set priorities but I have to at this stage and as it is not something that has to be done to keep the car on the road, I have to pull back.
When I have sorted myself out and sold off my MY bullbar and 3 of my 5 ride on mowers I will be more cashed up and will go looking then.
If anyone wants more info let me know. The wreckers is 5 minutes up the road so this is not problem. The owner is more than willing to put the kit on ebay so before things get silly maybe give them a call and discuss.
If anyone calls and finds themselves speaking with someone who knows nothing about the kit let me know as they have at least one person working there who may not be "up to speed" with the kit as it is hidden behind some bins out in the workshop.
I will be going up to the wreckers on monday to let them know I am not interested.

Well that sucks !!!!
I finally have some cash from selling one of my ride on mowers, went up to the wreckers to buy the kit and 80% of it HAS BEEN THROWN OUT, YES THROWN OUT !!!.
All that is left are the KYB shocks front and rear the lift kit sections for the tops of the front and rear shocks and a sump guard.
Everything else is gone.
I may go back up there during the week to see how much they want for the struts/shocks/whats left of the lift kit.
All bad timing in all.

Well I did pull the pin originally but thought I would get outside my comfort zone and actually take a risk with a lift kit, KYB struts/shocks and King springs front and back all for $200.
Even if everything went pear shaped with the lift kit I would still have the shocks and springs for the price. This ended up with most of the kit missing/thrown out anyway.
Update - went back up the wreckers this afternoon and asked how much for the remainder of the lift kit and the front/rear shocks. Asked to make an offer and did so for $100.
Agreement was reached and ended up with the following -
-Front struts x 2-
KYB shocks
King springs
Struts still fitted with the 2" lift kit offset spacers on the top of the strut tower
-Rear shocks x 2-
KYB shocks
King springs
Shocks still fitted with the 2" lift kit spacer brackets that I think actually measure 2-1/2" or 3"
-Sump guard
-A couple of brackets that look to be part of the original car (may not even be off a
Subaru but they were with the Shocks/Struts.
In all OK for the price. I will fit just the struts/shocks and respective springs when time permits.
Also noticed and had pointed out to me they have a new L series in and was offered to take a look. Had to get the kids to swimming classes so you can guess where I will be going tomorrow afternoon or soon after. It is Blue in colour so will have blue interior, perfect for me.
