Ac - urgent
I Have a 91 model brumby and was thinking before the conversion takes place i will drive it round for abit.
In the mean time it doesn't have AC. I read some threads on what i need but is their any place that sells these or does anyone here have the bolt ons for what i need to get it running?
Thanks!

I've done this for 6 years now... Just need to get the spare dosh together to get the AC pipes made up and then have the gas conversion done on it and it should be apples, and cold.sven '2' wrote:Buy a fan, sweat it out, and dream of EJ goodness.
It's up to you as to what it's worth to you being cool in summer as you'll have to de-gas the system to do the conversion to the EJ compressor
The other way around it would be to work out how to use the EJ compressor on the EA81 with the flat belt. It could be a head ^&*^ but it would save on having to re-gas it again...

shift the jack out along with the charcoal cannister, place some anti scratch material like a rag down, get some rope ready then swing the compressor aside into the corner and tie it in place on the flexibility of the hoses, may need to undo a few AC line to body clamp brackets to give more flex, tie it down until reassemble.

If you're planning on doing an EJ conversion, you're still going to need a complete EA kit anyway because when you do the EJ conversion, you'll just replace the compressor and associated engine parts.
I'd suggest you have a look around for a MY Touring or Sports Wagon or MY Coupe from around 1980 through to 1984.

You will need a dash with a/c wont you?
Im with the others, do it with the ej in it.
If your needing to swap the dash over to one with a/c vents. Do it with the conversion as it will need to come out for the conversion anyway.

Im still looking for a picture (there is one on the board somewhere) of the aircon button installed on the brumby dash.

Ah, I thought the AC gear was already in the brumby and it just needed gassing, then the conversion (EJ) comes along and what you you do for that?RSR 555 wrote:If you're planning on doing an EJ conversion, you're still going to need a complete EA kit anyway because when you do the EJ conversion, you'll just replace the compressor and associated engine parts.
