I think I'll give the diode a shot. See if that helps. The field wire is the single thin wire that connects to the back yes?

I don't understand this "slight run on" condition?
If the Ignition circuit removes power from the MSD, there should be no more spark.....so how does it run on?
I'm just puzzled, so if ya can clear that up, thanks :wink:

Being a Capacitor Discharge Ignition, it stores electricity within the MSD unit, and even after power has been switched off from it, it still has a few sparks left in it.

That's my understanding of it. Anyone is free to correct me!

pretty much spot on . only seem to happen on the sherpa though. never on the sedan I had.
