Anyone have any details on this....

I have a non-electric window L series and I have a set of 4 electric window doors ready to put onto the car complete with the switches on the doors, and the main switch cluster on the driver's door....but I don't have the electric control unit for in the car. I think theres a little box usually located under the drivers seat with a wiring harness? But I haven't spent any time tracing stuff in my touring wagon to compare - hoping somebody can just volunteer the information so I dont have to :)
Basically just need to know what to grab from a wreck to make this work.

thanks in advance!

Easier to put afternarket switches in with the factory motor and make the module up using relays... etc. Thats what i did. Less problems in the long run in my opinion.

That is a good idea. I suppose it wouldn't be too difficult to do that. Think I'll have abit of a shop around for some nice switches etc this week!

The control for the windows is under the passenger seat and is a separate loom from the main loom. You may even have the plug on your loom to just plug it in. The main problem you have with the L series power windows is the switches themselves but if you give the contacts a reall good clean, soak em in CLR or something similar, and then apply a small amount of lube you will get another 5years or so out of em before they play up again.

Cool thanks for the tip, although I'm sure all the door switches on these doors I have here were all working fine...right up until the car was rolled 3 times :)
