Starter Differences?

Post by FormulaSuby » Mon Mar 17, 2008 9:32 pm

I was wondering if someone can help here. I have a JDM EJ20R motor and have it mated to a 1994 Legacy FWD transmission. Just tried cranking it over tonight, and the starter is quite a ways away from the ring gear. The starter I am using as well as the flywheel are from JDM car. Would anyone know if there are different length starters available? It is hard to tell from auto parts pics.

Thanks,
Steve

You need an auto starter for the auto and a manual one for a manual they have a different nose length
