94 WRX dash - 83 Coupe

Post by 85wrx » Sun Dec 09, 2007 1:23 pm

Guys,

Has anyone fitted or tried to fit a complete dash including dash pad, heater assy and climate control into an early 80-84 MY series car. I am interested to find out how difficult it is to fit and if anyone has pictures of it? I know that it is about 80mm wider. Looking at modernising the coupes dash assy. Seen as I am going to the trouble of fitting a EJ20 turbo, I would like to bring a majority the components up to 94 standard. I did search an found there was someone talking about this a while ago and was going to post pics but nothing has been added.
Any help and pics would be greatly appreciated.

Regards Darryl

The wrx dash is to wide to fit easily. Have a look at the brumbyrunner project. It has a WRX dash in it and you can see how much we had to chop to get it to fit.

the 94 dash should fit if your keen to modify it of course... if your doing an half cut conversion it makes sense to use the dash, as you can swap the entire loom, dash, etc, and it should all work sweet..... you will just have to make custom hanging brackets for the dash.... good luck... post us some pcs of the finshed product....

Is that the Brumby that sits out front of Per4mance and has big white wheels? I think I saw it the other day *drools* but I was in a rush and couldn't stop and have a look :(
