liberty reverse lights

Post by Chris_Rogers » Tue Oct 02, 2007 10:16 pm

how do these things work?

I have two wires - blk/yel (feeds TCU) and brn/yel that feeds the reverse lights. putting the car in reverse connects the two but for the life of me I have no reverse lights. L series reverse wire is lt grn and that is correct.

are the liberty rev lights relayed??

ok I went past that. mine taps directly into the L reverse wire int eh kickpanel. think I know where its broke now that I have the diagrams for the legacy. I have one wire confused. need to tear a harness down again to find one blk/yel wire that feeds the switch. everything else works

found it!

missed a wire when I taped the main harness. have lights now. :) there are two blk/yel wires in that main lead - one feeds the trans earth via the TCU and the other feeds the rev switch.

does anyone have a L series fuse panel layout in english. mine is in japanese and I need to find 4 IGN circuits..

reverse lights - SORTED! removed the original wiring from the L series manual wiring. still can't work out why the solenoid is chattering in the gearbox though... (ideas?)

is this wile the ignition is on but the engine is not running?

I have heard this in a few different cars. Dont worry about it, you will find it goes away once the engine is running and you have some line pressure

it is. can't tell if it is there when the car is running. can't hear over the open exhaust - drives and shifts gears so to me nothing is wrong with it.

I'll have another listen tonight when I do the speedo drive.

ta!
