that earth wire near MY fuse box

Post by steptoe » Tue Jan 23, 2007 10:31 pm

putting the new uncracked dash top in my newer Brumby i discovered just how important it is to screw to earth that wire near back of fuse box. B4 finishing things i turned on the park lights and nearly all the dash lights lit up relays just buzzed and even switched off with accessories on, the indicator greens had slight glow to them , all coz the one earth wire not attached yet

Did the job without lifting bonnet this time so only dropped column rather than remove it from car. 2 hr 20 mins to get it out at a relaxed pace

Not bad, not bad at all Jono!

Earth wires can do screwy things hey. I find its best to add earths wherever possible, you can never have too many.

it was prolly a bean counter that stopped the electrical engineer from including a second earth wire. loks like everything was helping and earthing through every possible track such as light bulbs in dash
