looking at a bigger one, maybe the NS70M, length wise, fitting 258mm should fit, tight and wouldn't need to move the coil or the overflow tank - I hope.
Not sure how Century spec the height, whether it includes height of terminals? I always stand the battery on a layer of foam too........
Anyone fit that size in? or how about the 305Lx172Wx225H ? that would require some serious re-arrangements, not to mention its 24kg weight, its worth $190 i think.

In my MY coupe I found the N70 line of Century batteries was too tall to fit in my engine bay and thus I fitted it in a box in the boot. The height was a problem in that the terminals would have no doubt shorted out on the bonnet and possibly stopped the bonnet from closing.

Sitting the battery on a layer of foam or rubber is good practice. Above about 5mm thick though the foam is a bit silly.

I wouldn't pay $190 for it though. If only you were in WA, I could confidently promise $130 inc GST for the genuine Century item.

The NS70 is a smaller battery with a lower CCA rating and lower RC number. Wouldn't even bother compare it to an N70. The 43T and 67EF are both Exide equivalents to the NS70 and inferior products to the Century.

Here's a part number breakdown too:

N70ZZ : Battery form factor
L: Reversed terminal polarity
4WD: Thickened lead plates for improved performance in high shock and vibration conditions.


At the end of the day for a primary battery you can't go past the E550H Exide, or Century equivalent. Biggest battery you can fit in an MY anyway, at a guess I'd say it would fit an L too.
