hi all...
ive had all sorts of probs with my temp guage, today i was pumping the **ck out of my stereo..checked the temp guage and it was beating with the music..moving about 3-4mm in total...surely the current drawn from my amps cant effect the temp guage??
NOTE--i have chopped through the wiring loom with the fan before(the temp guage was moving with the revvs like a tacho!) but ive since fixed it obviously!..
any ideas?
cheers

Yeah the amp will draw a heap of power when cranked and it would be possible to make any thing that draws power to fluctuate, either get a bigger battery or a bigger alternator or both an a Cap.

I would like to see how u have repaired your wiring since the fan chopped it... odd u begin to have these problems with it since then. Sounds like an earthing problem to me.

wow! most ricers would kill for a temp gauge like that!!!
on the subject my temp gauge is a bit dicky- works then stops etc. i was just wondering where the sender unit is located so i can check its wiring.

its just near the thermostat (where the pipe from the radiator goes to the top fo the engine)

Remember there is that small earth strap just under where the spare wheel goes which was too short after the lift kit install. Might be an idea to extend that and reconnect it.

I would also check the earth, or re earth your dash cluster. If you have had more than one guage do this in the past, sounds like a weak link in the loom somewhere, and the dash is a place which is most forgotten.
