the bearing in my thermo fan is buggered (solved my strange noise problem) and was wondering if an aftermaket fan would give better cooling ie spin faster, than the ol' L series one?

otherwise ill just replace the fan.

Im sure the aftermarket ones would be better if you can make em fit.

If you are handy you can adapt a liberty fan to fit in there with minimal fuss and they work about 200% better than the old L ones

How good are they compared to aftermarket ones though?? could be a lot of fuss for little gain. Also with aftermarket ones u have a choice of sizes and different mounting options.

A street mag I read recently said via testing aftermarket etc for efficiency etc reckon that the Ford Modeo or similar Falcon fans used with shrouds work best, dont know what they go for at the wreckers etc?
The photos showed 2x fans mounted diag across the rad in the shroud.

I have a heap of Liberty fans lying around so it was the "cheapest" option for me

put it in today. was the easiest fit id done. i sorta wedged it into the existing shroud as the new fan and its surrounding just fit inside. then just bolted it back up and wired it. easy. havent been for a test run yet but it spins a hell of a lot faster than the old one.
