Power Window Wiring

Post by Matt » Sun Oct 22, 2006 6:42 pm

Do the power windows use reverse polarity or just + 12v applied to the other side of the motor input? ( the three wire input motors on MY)

i.e
Wind up
Input 1 +12
Input 2 Earth (0V)
Input 3 Nothing

Wind Down
Input 1 Nothing
Input 2 Earth (0V)
Input 3 +12

Cheers

Just in case 7 years on you are still looking for the answer, for L series at least 12V is applied to one side on the upwind and swapped to the other terminal on the down. Ie 2 wire.

The switching does all the reversing, as there are only two wires to motor ... :)

See here : More Details...

Yep. Third wire is for the lock out switch - cuts the earth wire I think from memory - it's been a while!
