I dont really know why it happens, but I've found its often an indication that the battery is nearing the end of its life

Both batteries are brand new.
The ford gets scale on the clip that holds three wires to the neg terminal
and scale on the clamp holding the battery down also around the base and on the fuseable link.
The ford has two neg lines instead of one .
I put on a extra because ford always use poor neg grounds on there cars.
On the tex its happening to the clamp both terminals are clean.

i have had this problem with a few cars but i find the best prevention is to make sure the terminals are clean and put a film of grease on the battery terminals prior to replacing the leads..
