MY Temperature gauge sender unit
MY Temperature gauge sender unit
Anyone know the details/part number for a temperature gauge sender unit for an 82 model MY touring wagon with the full dash. Were the sender units different between the standard dash and the Touring Wagon dash.
Mine is sitting on about an 1/8th and not going any higher. Both thermo fans are cutting in and out as they need too but the gauge is not going any higher.
Thinking of starting with the sender and going from there.

They are the same sensor unit for both the 6 guage dash and the standard dash, only difference is between analogue which has a bi-metal thermister type or digi dash models with an electric pulse type. For analogue, there are plenty of sensors on ebay, here for example.
The sensor if you don't know is the one right next to the thermostat housing with a spade connector. But also there is another sensor on the opposite end of the intake with a bullet style connector (on the ones I've owned anyway) which has something to do with the temperature guage...although it can't be that important; mine has been disconnected for close to a year and there is no difference)

Just for future reference, this sensor is for the manual choke and turns off the electric hold on the cable once the engine warms upSilverbullet wrote:But also there is another sensor on the opposite end of the intake with a bullet style connector (on the ones I've owned anyway) which has something to do with the temperature guage...although it can't be that important; mine has been disconnected for close to a year and there is no difference)
You know you are getting old when the candles on your birthday cake start to cost more than the cake itself.
