Guys,
Having just pulled the driver door apart on my 98 Outback & stripped the power window motor.

Does anyone know if oll the motors attached to the regulators are the same?

I understand the regulators would all be diferent but I'm hopfull that all the motors are the same. ie I can use a rear door motor to replace the drivers motor.

Cheers Paul.

Hey Paul,

From memory, the RHR door regulator motor is the same as the RHF one. I think you can use the LH side regulator motors but you need to strip them down a lot more. I would have a RHF one if you need.

BTW.. good name

Cheers,
Paul

What sort of $$ would you want for one one of the wreckers here quoted me $100 then went to $80 but I'm thinking at this stage I'm going to swap back door to front. Kids don't need fresh air ;-)

As long as the drivers goes up & down. I stripped it down to the armature yesterday & when I put it back together I accidentally spun the magnet 180deg. Up was down etc DOHHHHH. Swapped the leads in the connector to fix (easier than stipping the door again)
I will will put it back right when I have a good motor in hand.

Cheers Paul. ;-) (GREAT NAME )

Hey Paul.. because you've got the best name in the world ;-) , you can have it for $30 plus the postage.

Stuff those wreckers.. I was thinking the whole door would only be worth $150.

Gotta look after the tin lids.. although they do make you want to shut their air off occasionally

Paul,
Thanks for the offer (sorry taken I while to get back)
Got one from easy scrap pulled it out myself $20 (including the outer top trim for the door on my other Outback) bargin.

Improtant to note on this car all 4 motors (gearbox at least) are different) the Nylon crown wheel in mine was damaged. Only 450,00Ks on the car I don't know WHY it would be worn. ;-)

Cheers Paul in Queanbeyan. :-)

PS after four strip & reassembles I got that reg out of the car at the scappers in record time. :-)

Yeah.. it's weird that these have worn out so early.. I would have thought this wouldn't have happened until way passed the 1 million kms mark :p

Weird also that the motors were different. I thought just the gearbox and regs were different :-? I've got a sedan Gen2 and the motors looked the same.. sorry
