Hi guys I'm a mechanic in the uk been given the job of piecing together a brat with an ea82 turbo engine in it. I've plugged everything in the obvious way but am stumped as far as getting it running. If I post some pics will you fine folk give me some pointers?

Perhaps some more information, like did you have the wiring diagram for the ea82T, or some history of how all the components came together, if it has a flap or hotwire air flow meter, etc.

If you are confident everything is hooked up properly the first thing I would check is if the injectors are stuck shut from the engine sitting (assuming that it has, of course)

I'm sure if you post some pics there will be members here that will be more than will to impart their knowledge if you ask the right questions ;)

Welcome to the forum!

Cheers guys at the present time I'm just trying to get a spark as the rest of the truck is stripped due to substantial corrosion. Are there good wiring diagrams online? It has a maf. Will crank and has power to coil and ecu. Wondered if anyone had info for correct coil wiring I've done it according to how it was installed before. (truck had an ea82 in before maybe running I've no idea!) with regards to history I was given the truck with 4 engines it the back nothing in the bay save a half burnt loom and a box full of ecus.

Charge him heaps :D Giles me suspects :)

We EA82 die hards know there are a few different EA82's

ECU can be 3 plug or 4 plug, unknown how many combos of each are about
seen 3 throttle bodies of non spider manifold TB's
two dizzies, one with guts and vac can for boost/retard 3 plug , the other has no guts but pick up, no can - four plugger ECU

and flapper AFM for 3 plug, hot wire for the 4 plug ECU

The hotwire, 4 plugger's coil should be on a bracket with a transistor thing mounted to it - they screw up and are necessary for spark ??

G'day, there are links to manuals in the forums, have a search. EFI 4 plug ecu's use a hall effect dizzy/crank angle sensor, might pay to see if you have a output from there.
