Temp sender ea81

I have a need for a temperature sender to fit in the standard manifold position ea81 that will be hooked up to a warning light on my dash. This was the ancient system we had in cars many years ago- a simple overheating warning light that went on when the temperature reached say 100 degrees C.

I need this as my great digital temp guage/thermatic fan switch isnt bright enough in sunlight to trust I'll see it when the temp hikes...and that can occur quickly.

Currently I have the standard sender in there not connected.

Does anyone know of a sender switch that will fit in the standard spot for a warning light?

You could probably use the one that's in the radiator if it fits - it'll trigger the light when the thermo fans would normally come on - at least then you'll know it's getting warm. Who knows, you might even be able to get a switch that's warmer than what's already in the radiator so the light comes on a little later. The idea behind this is that with the radiator switch in near the thermostat it might come on when the engine is up to it's operating temp...

Just a thought.

Cheers

just google tridon temp switches - an MB or two size file from their site on everything I think , only got 800 kb before my connection got upset the other day looking for TFS Tridon Fan Switch so there is likely a TTS Tridon Temp Switch part number there too !

thanks steptoe. ok located sender units.

Now I need the thread size. Have no idea on this stuff. And dont really want to extract the original sender to find out because I'd then need to take it to a boly joint etc.. has anyone got the knowledge of the thread size of an ea81 temp sender hole????
